William Jones

William D. "Scooter" Jones, 82, of Colonial Heights passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his residence. Born on December 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Nat Davis and Margaret Bryant Jones, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Eubank Jones; and a sister Hilda May Jones Joyner. Mr. Jones retired after 35 years with E. Burgess Trucking Company. He is survived by five daughters, Crystal Jones and husband, Johnnie Butler, Karen Jones Pond and husband, Michael, Sharon Jones, Angel L. Jones, Victoria Pounds; one son, William Thomas Jones and wife, Gloria; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Rogers Jones and wife, Elizabeth; numerous nieces and nephews and his many friends at the Hardees Breakfast Club. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday August 29, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
