William T. Peade, 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Greenfield Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Ida Dora Anderson Peade, five brothers, Glenn, John, Hubert, Lacy, and Onsby Peade; two sisters, Audrey Vaughan, and Margaret Cole. Mr. Peade retired in 1995 after 33 years as the owner of Riverside Glass Company, Inc. in Colonial Heights, and Crater Glass and Mirror Company, Inc. in Petersburg. He was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg for 53 years where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Trustee. Mr. Peade was past member of the Glass Dealers Association, Home Builders Association, the Colonial Heights Kiwanis Club, Colonial Heights Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau. He was a very generous man and helped a lot of people. He also loved playing his guitar and mandolin, and singing mostly gospel songs, he will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret I. Peade; two sons, Ronald Thomas Peade, and Robert W. Peade both of Colonial Heights; one daughter, Janet Peade Brewer of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, David Edwards, Ryan Peade, Cody Brewer, and Casey Brewer; one great-grandson, Judah Edwards; a sister, Gerry Broyles of Colonial Heights; two brothers, Cecil Peade of Prince George, and Nathaniel Peade of South Boston, Va. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 in Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805, with the Reverend Barry Ginn officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday September 11, 2011 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
