William Rigby

December 29, 1927 — June 7, 2017

William "Buck Jack" Franklin Rigby, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Born December 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas John Rigby, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Reese. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Linwood Rigby; daughter, Angela Rigby; his brother, Thomas J. Rigby; and his two sisters, Dorthy Grimes and Edith West. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. William worked and later retire as a machine operator for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. William was very passionate about baseball and was a member of the POGO. He is survived by a sister, Shirley R. Stotesberry of Colonial Heights; a brother, Robert L. Rigby(Shirley) of Prince George; a sister, Mary Fable of Colonial Heights; nieces and nephews, Perry Mason, Donna Vaughan, Bud Mason, and Ruth Ann Skaggs; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend for many years, Maureen Cardwell. There will be a graveside service held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with the interment to follow. Funeral arrangements made by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
