William Sandford

William W. Sandford, 80 of Hopewell passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Golden Living Battlefield Park Nursing Home. He was born May 4, 1935 to the late Charles Walter and Mary Evelyn Eley Sandford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma R. Sandford. Mr. Sandford was a United States Army veteran and a retired truck driver. He is survived by his brother, Maynard C. Sandford of Hampton; two sisters, Phylise S. Lewis of Dinwiddie, Joyce Ann Harrell of Dewitt; two step-sons, one half-sister, two half-brothers, and numerous nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend David Prather officiating.
