William "Shawn" Johnson

William “Shawn” Johnson, 60, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Vaughan Halstead Johnson, and his brothers, Gary Halstead and Steven Halstead.

Shawn graduated from Meadowbrook High School, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. He worked various jobs, but his favorite was working as a sound engineer for live bands in the Richmond and Petersburg areas. Shawn loved music, NASCAR, tending to his Bonsai plants, and helping his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shelby S. Johnson; sister-in-law, Karen S. Belcher (Keith); close first-cousin, Debbie Kellams; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
