William Stevens

William H. Stevens, 95, of Colonial Heights, a native of Ettrick, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born February 13, 1920 to the late William H. Stevens Sr. and Gladys Monroe Stevens, and was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Hudson Stevens and a son William Henry Stevens III. Mr. Stevens was a servant of Jesus Christ and a member of Colonial Christian Church in Colonial Heights. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Lee, after 43 years of service. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn R. Lanphear and husband, Robert of Fredericksburg; son, Mark H. Stevens and wife, Wendy of Petersburg; granddaughter, Sylvia A. Watts; three great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy S. Mizelle of Arizona. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Colonial Christian Church, 295 Dunlop Farms Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia with the Reverend Allan Little officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
