William Vest

William Howard Vest, 84, of Petersburg passed away on Monday January 2, 2017 at his residence. Born April 3, 1932, he was the son of the late Samuel Howard and Esther Jefferies Vest, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Vest Thompson. Mr. Vest was a United States Navy veteran and worked for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxine Davis Vest and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia with the Reverend Dr. Andrew Brockelman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805, the Alzheimer's Association Great Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Virginia, 23060, or the American Heart Association, P.O.
