William Walker

William Steven Walker, 88, of S. Chester�eld, VA passed from his earthly life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 surrounded by his family. "Billy" was born in North Carolina on December 9, 1929, and moved to VA in 1936. He worked at Dupont, and Virginia Power Company, retiring in 1983. Billy was active in his church for many years teaching Sunday School, RA Leader, Buildings & Grounds, and preparations for Sunday Services. He was a Carpenter, Hunter, Fisherman, Gardener, and faithful friend helping others. He enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William Crawford and Gertrude Roberts Walker; siblings/spouses, Louise Cliborne (Randy), Dwight Walker (Nancy), Jeanette Shef�eld (Bobby), Charles Lee Walker; and granddaughter, Tara Meredith Welch. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Era Young Walker; children, Janice Meredith (Cla), Carolyn Vivas (Dwight), Mark Walker; grandchildren, Rachel Meredith (Curt), Katie M. Baker (Corey), Cla Meredith III (Natalie), Kristen Schmaeman (Allan); great-grandchildren, Brenan, Erin, Emy, Layla, Jax, TaraWren, Anniston, Addy, Harper, Wally, Averi, McKenna, Ainsley, Ashtyn; sister, Sherry Clay (Ralph); aunt, Katherine Roberts Jamerson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, VA, with Pastor Scott Price of�ciating. In lieu of �owers, contributions may be made in memory of Billy to his church, Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 19600 Halloway Avenue, S. Chester�eld, VA 23803.
