William Howard Warren, 77, of Carson, formerly of Petersburg, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dabney Warren; two sisters, Shirley and Mary Elizabeth; and a brother, John Wilbur. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, primarily in Okinawa, enjoyed a lifetime of fishing and hunting with close friends, was a former employee with Nolde Brothers Bakery and retired from Allied Chemical. He is survived by a bother-in-law, Norman (Buster) Dabney of Sutherland; a devoted niece, Barbara G. Samuel and husband, Larry of Midlothian; his loyal companion, Helen Warren of Carson; and numerous other relatives. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
