William Winstead

William Claude Lee Winstead, 70, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, he was the son of the late William B. and Margaret Payne Winstead, and was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce King. Mr. Winstead was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Appomattox Ward, and a retired Corrections Officer for the State of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Page Winstead; sons, William Stewart Winstead and wife, Tracie and Christopher Lee Winstead; a brother, John M. Winstead; three granddaughters, Caleigh, Jessa, and Jaina; nieces and nephew, Ginger, Kathy, Amber, Jeremy, Brittany, and Sandy. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1800 Johnson Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with Bishop Bruce Dove officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E.
