William Ellis Worrell, Jr., affectionately known as Bud, 92, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. Born February 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Mattie Newsome and William Ellis Worrell, Sr., and was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald “Pete” Worrell.
Bud was a longtime member of Life Church in Chester, Virginia and enjoyed fishing on Lake Chesdin and the Appomattox River. After 29 years of dedicated service as a pipe fitter, he retired from Allied Signal, now known as Honeywell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Clara Lou Worrell; four children, Linda Worrell Moore and husband, Danny, Donna Louise Worrell, William Ellis Worrell III and wife, Teresa L. Harrison, Greg Scott Worrell and wife, Annette; five grandchildren, Jamie Collins, Steve Worrell and wife, Michelle, Taylor Davis and husband, Blake, Parker Worrell and wife, Audri, Logan Worrell and wife, Laura; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Collins, Ellis Worrell, Emersyn Davis, Ethan Worrell, Eli Worrell, and Jesse Worrell; one great-great-grandchild, Kinsley Collins; and other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Life Church, 16801 Harrowgate Rd, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will be private.
