William "Billy" Spain

William “Billy” Paige Spain, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022.  He was the son of the late Samuel Place and Mildred Wells Spain, and was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Wilkerson Spain Wheeler.

He was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and a longtime employee of Southside Sheltered Workshop.

He is survived by his brother, Robert P. Spain and wife, Rosemary, David Spain and wife, Rhonda; nieces, Rebekah and Rachel; nephews, David Lee and Kevin; great-niece and nephew, Grace and Jacob.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
