Mr. Willis Wilber Williams, 79, of Matoaca, died on May 23, 2009 at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, Virginia. He was the son of the late James and Mildred Williams of Sutherland. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Toby, Tommy, and Randolph Williams and two sisters, Kitty Wright and Rebecca Ponder. Wilber was a United States Army Veteran, and a retired truck driver for C.L. Williams Mail service. He was a member of Ocran United Methodist Church. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Williams, sons J.T. Williams and wife Rose of Chester, Toby Williams and wife Linda of Colonial Heights, daughter Nancy Williams of Matoaca, granddaughters, Trudy Williams of Hopewell, Liz Venning and husband Josh of Midvale, Utah, Toby Allen of Dinwiddie, and Crystal Grigg of Williamsburg, great granddaughter Logan Allen of Dinwiddie, two sisters, Louise Dayvault of Sutherland, Mary Alice Guthrie of Petersburg, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard 23834, with the Reverend Gene C. Tatum and the Reverend Lee McConnell officiating. Interment will follow East Matoaca Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday May 26, 2009 at the funeral home.
