Yasuko Sato "Baba" Grant, 90, of Chesterfield, formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on February 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 9, 1923 in Tokyo, Japan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Herbert Grant. Mrs. Grant retired from J.C. Penney as a seamstress, and was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance in North Carolina. She is survived by her children, Nelson H. Grant Jr. of Monroe, Georgia, Mary G. Jackson of Chesterfield, Joseph L. Grant of Asheville, North Carolina, Paul W. Grant of Topping, Virginia, and Martha G. Shull of Monroe, Georgia; twenty-four grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews living in Japan. A graveside service will be held at a 3:00 p.m. April 1, 2014 in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
