Jim Wilson

Jimmie Ray Wilson, 73, of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Born in Glasgow, Kentucky on January 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Clarence Owen and Esther Virginia Wilson.

After 30 years of dedicated service, Jim retired as a delivery driver for UPS. Jim then went on to work for the Colonial Heights Senior Center as a transportation coordinator for 10 years before retiring.

Jim was a former member of the Colonial Heights Optimist Club. He had taken 20 cruises with his wife and was a slot machine enthusiast. To relax, Jim enjoyed reading and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gail Barry Wilson; two sons, Ronnie “Stump” Wilson and wife, Crystal, and Todd B. Wilson; five grandchildren, Tristan Wilson, Jake Wilson, Abbey Wilson, Logan Wilson and Sydney Lambert; one great-grandchild, Freya Wilson; three sisters, Patty Weaver and husband, Lawson, Peggy Snyder and husband, Frank and Debbie Pershing and husband, Bobby; sister-in-law, Marty Barry and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the funeral home.
